The Devil’s in the Detail!

In true Budget form, several tax writers emerged well after the Chancellors Pre-Budget Speech on 9th December 2009.
One of the documents released after the speech signalled greater efforts to investigate mistakes made on Tax Returns due to “carelessness”.
The upshot of this is that it appears that H M Revenue & Customs will possibly be investigating more Tax Returns in the future. Needless to say, if Morgan Harris prepare your Tax Return and we are happy with the standard of the Tax Return when it is submitted, we can rule out any “carelessness” on the return. However H M Revenue & Customs are likely to look into more Tax Returns in the future it reinforces our decision to protect our clients under the Tax Investigation Services Scheme.
